As a professional person, as a Consultant and Counsellor, and as a Mentor and Educator, I am dedicated to maximizing human awareness and potential in individuals and groups. To that end, my core business is focused on success training and life-mastery; my core philosophy is ‘response-ability’ as opposed to being ‘reactive” ie knowing how to respond rather than react.

I believe, therefore, the first place to begin is in knowing self. That is the essence of my work. Self-awareness followed by taking specific actions to integrate change is a crucial step in fashioning a fulfilled and successful life. Only then are habitual behaviours understood. Only then is the power of choice recognized and embraced.  Only then is it possible to truly assist others. I am directed by the following quote by Horace, 67 BC:

“You cannot give what you have not got.”

Experience has taught me that when you understand who you are, you will be in a better position to understand others; when you are true to yourself, living as closely as you can to an ‘authentic’ life, you are more likely to appreciate differences in others; if you love your ‘Self’ you are more likely to make decisions and find resolutions from a position of creativity and strength and you feel gratitude in perceived challenges.

As Alfred Adler said, “I am grateful for the idea that has used me.”

I believe one of the most important factors in keeping people, in all positions and of all persuasions, performing and staying engaged is to provide them with the opportunity to regularly update and refine their knowledge, skills and personal awareness.

While I know that specific skills-based training is important, I also believe being committed to and knowing how to develop self and others is equally, if not more important in achieving the vision, mission and purpose of any person, whether professionally or at a personal level. This is not a passive experience but rather, an interactive one that engages and strongly encourages an openness to learning and transformation.

My philosophy is expressed by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Author \ Philosopher:

“If I accept you as you are, I will make you worse; however, if I treat you as though you are what you are capable of becoming, I help you become that.”
